If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above. Where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (2) Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth. (3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ( Colossians 3:1-3 KJV)

A few weeks ago God woke me out of my sleep. He said the word to me that my life was hid in him ( Christ). I am a single, childless woman in my late 30’s and my prayer for years has been, Lord bless me with a husband, Lord bless my womb with children. For so long I imagined that my life was in those things. That night God was letting me know that my life wasn’t in that for which I am praying for, but rather my life is in him. Only it is hidden.  In other words if I want that Jeremiah 29:11 life that God has designed for me then I must search it out in him.

We all have a life hidden in Christ. Maybe your prayer  isn’t for marriage and children. It could be to own your own business, to go back to school, to start an outreach. Whatever it is that you desire God knows about it. He placed it there, but God is saying those desires are in him. Matthew 6:33 says But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. God was telling me that night that I heard your prayers, but first seek those things of me. seek my kingdom, my righteousness all of the extra will be added.

The word hid means to conceal from knowledge or exposure; keep secret.  I want for you to note this though, just because something is hid does not mean that it does not exist. It is there but it is up to us to uncover it. in Proverbs 25:2 it states It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings to search out a matter. Wow, so we see here that since God has already told us that our life is hid in him, but it is an honor for us to seek it out. God conceals it but we search it out. One of the things that I’m learning about God in my journey is that he will never ask you to seek him without it being anything in it for you that is beneficial to you. God has nothing to gain but we do. God promises us in Hebrews that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. That’s an awesome promise.

Remember that anything that is hid, can be discovered. Only if you search for it. That thing that God has for you, that he has ordained just for you. It will never be discovered accidentally.  Some things that God has for you will only be revealed through pursing him.

Your life is hid in Christ!!
