Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV)
Every since God told me to start blogging again. I have had one nagging thought. That thought was. Does this blog which I consider to be a ministry that God has given me. Does it bring glory to God’s name? If an unbeliever were to stumble onto my page. Would there be something said or written that would make them want to turn to the bible and therefore to God for answers? I asked myself the question. Am I pointing people to Jesus Christ or is this blog just about the experiences that I have gone through. For the past couple of weeks, the above scripture has been appearing to me everywhere I turn. Rather if it was in a television program that I was watching, a sermon that I was listening to or even a book that I was reading. I was once told that if you keep getting the same message in a few days time. That is God confirming something to you/us.
In this passage of scripture the Apostle Paul tells the Corinthian church that whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. When you read this chapter you know Paul refers to food that is set before you. He tells them in verse 27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. So we see that Paul is telling them whatever is put in front of you to eat asking no questions. For the sake of our conscience. Meaning they would be able to eat it without the fear of dishonoring God, but in verse 28 the Apostle Paul lets us know that however, if someone tells you that this has been offered to idols for that person’s conscience sake. Refrain from eating. This is where it can get kind of confusing. I believe this is why Paul tells us in verse 31 Whatever we do. Whether we eat. Let it me to the glory of God. Whether we drink. Let that be to the glory of God. Whatsoever we do. Let that be to the glory of God. Let’s concentrate for a second on the whatsoever part, because this goes far beyond the whatever we eat or drink. This whatsoever applies to any and every area in our lives. When we go to work. We do it to the glory of God. When we walk in our calling. We do it to the glory of God. Our every day conversation. We do it to the glory of God. I had questions about this blog. God told me whatsoever that I write. Write unto the glory of God. Whatever we do in this life. We do it so that God may be glorified in our lives. This verse of scripture is a reminder to us that we should not just be living this life to satisfy our selfish desires but everything that we do should bring glory to God’s name.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Colossians 3:17 KJV)
In the book of Colossians. It tells us that whatever we do. Whether if it’s in word or deed. Which basically means in action. We are to do all of it in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus. While we are here on this earth we are ambassadors of Christ. What we say and what we do it is to represent him. To tell on myself God was using this scripture to tell me to watch what comes out of my mouth. I have a very sharp tongue and if provoked I can cut you down. God was telling me Aqua as my representative you represent my Kingdom. Your words are not your own. I cannot represent God’s Kingdom talking any type of way. No matter how provoked I feel. No, matter if I think that it’s justified. It is not. Whatsoever I do. I do it to the glory of God. Whatsoever I do I do it in Jesus name, because I am not representing myself. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to mar God’s Kingdom anymore than I have by my bad representation of him in the past. I have come to understand I can’t change the past or the words that I allowed to come out of my mouth. What I can do is ask God to strengthen me. To let my words be that of life to those who hear it. I now understand that the whatsoever I do means everything that I do. I am to do it to the glory of God. I am to do it in Jesus name. What ever you are to do. Make sure you do it to the Glory of God. Make sure you do it in Jesus name.
God’s blessings,
Aqua.
That’s actually a very good verse and one to remember, I too have a sharp tongue that is tinged with impatience, the Lord has definitely been reminding to keep Him close

Yes, we definitely need to keep the Lord close. I am learning in this walk with the Lord that I can do nothing in my own strength, but I need God in every area of my life. Thank you for reading. God bless you. ❤
